Dominika is a 20-year-old woman, who has many questions, like: why are we doing this? Or how? Who am I? How do I identify myself? It seems easy, however deep down it’s pretty complex.
Dominika has dedicated her last 10 years to elite sport. She does kayaking, and has spent her childhood with competitions, victories, and defeats. Although she had to realize that this sport bubble doesn’t make her satisfied and wanted to become more than an always tired athlete with the triangle of training, eating, and sleeping. She began to open to arts, that was a huge step out of my comfort zone, but at the same time also opened her eyes how colorful, creative, exciting she could become. With time Dominika started to recognize similarities between artists and athletes and reckon they both have a deep drive in life with excellent motivation to do something that nobody does before. To reach that goal, they have to make a lot of sacrifices, endurance and resignations.
Dominika likes to be open-minded with people and the whole world and take every possible opportunity to learn new things from others and to discover new things about herself. “In my mind human connections can teach us a lot. Our family, parents, teachers, coaches, friends. I don’t want to put any label on myself. Since one label do not represent who we are,” says Dominika. “I can call herself a daughter, a friend, a sister, a neighbor, a coach and many else. Besides, most importantly, I am a friendly, genuine person for any community. In the end of the day won’t be ever afraid to ask or answer questions.”
